Guitar Theory Unlocked:
Make Music Make Sense

Once you understand how the musical alphabet works, and what standard tuning is, the guitar fretboard is actually beautifully logical! Many other instruments have all kinds of unusual fingerings for different notes (like the saxophone!), but with the guitar, every fret is just one semitone.

It all starts with standard tuning: E A D G B E. These notes are the "open" notes for the six strings, and from there you just go up the fretboard; every fret increases the pitch by one semitone.

No matter your skill level on the guitar, I believe it is super important to understand how the fretboard works. To build a strong musical foundation, checkout my Guitar Theory Unlocked course today!
