Download Related Questions

Q. When I click on the download links in the member’s area, it takes forever to load the video. What gives?
A. If you click the download links directly, your internet browser will attempt to load the video inside of the browser. To prevent this, right click on the link, and select “Save Target As” or “Save File As” and save the file to a location on your computer where you’ll remember where you put it. We recommend creating a folder specific to this lesson, and downloading all the material into that one folder in order to find it easily later on.

Q. When I start the download, it tells me it will take several hours. Is this normal?
A. Just like in high school math, the distance you can travel is dependent on how fast you’re going. If you have a fast internet connection, you should be able to download all of the material in an hour or two. However, if your internet connection is slower, it may take several hours to complete the download. We recommend using some form of download manager software that will allow you to resume your download in case it is interrupted.

Q. I’ve downloaded the files, but now I can’t find them on my computer! Help!
You can check your Downloads folder, and if the files are not there, we recommend going back as if you were going to re-download the files, but this time when your internet browser asks you where to save the files, take note of the location, and go look there on your computer.

Q. I’ve download the files, but they won’t play on my computer!
The video file should play in most video software, however if you’re having problems you can try downloading and installing VLC Media Player which is free.

Q. Can I download the lesson material on more than one computer?
Yes, your login details allow you access to the member’s area, so you can download the lesson as many times as you require. Some people like to have the lesson on both their home computer as well as their work computer, and this works just fine with this system.

Q. Can I download these lessons to my iPad?

A. Yes. We've tested this free video downloader app and it works fine to download both the Riff Ninja Academy lessons which show up as videos in your browser, as well as the larger premium course files as well.

Q. Can I play the jam tracks on my iPad?

A. Yes, but you must download them to a computer first, unzip the main file, import the mp3 files into iTunes, and then sync to your iPad through iTunes. Here's a good video tutorial for doing that.

Q. Can I download these lessons to my Android device?

A. Yes. For the premium courses with video download links, simply press and hold the link to be downloaded until a menu pops up. Select Save Link and the download will automatically start.

Q. How do I login using my Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter accounts?

A. Simply click on the Facebook (or Twitter or LinkedIn) logo underneath the login form. You will be asked to login to your Facebook account, and once inside, to give permission to connect to it. Don't worry - nothing will be sent to your friends or posted on your behalf or anything of that nature. This is only so the website can verify your account. Next you will be asked to login to the member's area using your login information (the same way you've always logged in).

At this point, your accounts will be synced together, and if you are logged into Facebook you will now be able to login to the member's site with a single click, by clicking on the logo under the login form.
