Tip: I recommend printing off this mini course and keeping it with your guitar for handy reference.

First time for me. Having trouble laying my index down. I play acoustic ele.Does it matter
Hi Scooter, there’s really no big difference between electric, acoustic, and acoustic electric for the purposes of playing bar chords. The biggest thing is whether or not your specific guitar has good “action” which is the space between the strings and the fretboard. I’ve seen electrics with terrible action that are quite difficult to play, and acoustics with very good action that are a breeze to play.
